Helen Culolias Makris
was the wife of Charter Founder and Founding Pioneer George P. Makris. She was interviewed Feb. 21, 2019.
Fr. Ernest Blougouras
was the parish's first regular priest, 1959-61. He had just finished Holy Cross School of Theology in Brookline and the University of Athens. He is now 86, retired and living in Florida. The lighting, audio and equipment conditions of the interview were not optimal, but he was happy to talk. He was interviewed Feb. 28, 2019.
Tony Decaneas
was the son of Charter Founder and Founding Pioneer Dr. Demetre Decaneas. He lives in Revere and was interviewed March 8, 2019.
Fr. Nicholas C. Manikas
was the longest-serving priest of the St. Demetrios parish, 1975-2001. He was in the same Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology class as our first priest Fr. Blougouras. He was interviewed April 14, 2019.
Peter Bassett (Basiakos)
was the son of Charter Founder and Founding Pioneer Angelo Bassett and a member of the first GOYA and altar boys group. He was interviewed April 18, 2019.
Cindi Lewis (Louizou) Dabrowski
is the daughter of Founding Pioneer Arthur Lewis (Athanasios Louizou) and a member of the original GOYA group. She was interviewed Feb. 15, 2019.
Joyce, Richard Callas (Kalapothakis)
Joyce was the wife and Richard the son of Charter Founder Lou (Elias) J. Callas, who was the son of Fr. Ioannis Kalapothakis, one of the first priests of Boston's St. John the Baptist. Lou was St. Demetrios's first legal adviser. Joyce and Richard were interviewed from Richard’s home in Middletown, RI, April 16, 2019.
Peter and Stephen Condakes
were sons of Charter Founder and Founding Pioneer John Condakes. Their uncle James Condakes was one of the three “nouni” (godparents) of the parish. They were interviewed May 14, 2019.
John, Helen and Peter Anton
Helen was the wife and John (left) and Peter were the sons of Charter Founder and Founding Pioneer Chris Anton (Antonopoulos). They were interviewed May 12, 2019.
Spyros Gavris (Gavrilidis)
